New Heritage Exhibit for Steam Railway
This latest exhibit sees a 1941 Bedford OMD Lorry from the H.J. Bennett’s heritage fleet on display at the entrance to the Show Field, adding more to an increasingly popular area for visitors which already includes the T-Junction refreshment kiosk and Haven Falconry. The Show Field is also well known as the venue for a range of events throughout the year such as the Island Motor Show, 1940’s Experience and Island Steam Show.
Peter Vail, General Manager of the Isle of Wight Steam Railway comments: “When H.J. Bennett first approached us with the idea we immediately saw the opportunity to enhance the visitor experience and work with a like-minded Island business that like us cares about the Islands heritage.”

As a registered educational charity the new exhibit also adds to the educational journey at the Steam Railway, reflecting more of the Islands proud transport heritage and further enhances ‘the story’ for visitors.
