HJ Bennett will undertake any demolition work with precision and planning ensuring a safe and efficient service. We strongly believe in ensuring everything which can be, is salvaged and recycled.
We run our own recycling centre which enables all suitable materials to be crushed, stockpiled and re-used further on re-development, thus reducing costs making it financially viable and more environmentally friendly.
In order to feed the ever increasing request for second life aggregates HJB are actively engaged in several larger demolition projects, recently the tricky Bembridge Lifeboat pier and boathouse had to be removed and the waste sent for reprocessing.

This demolition needed to be carried out very carefully as the new pier structure was to be constructed to the right of the old pier whilst demolition was in progress.

Various pieces of plant were used with long reach crushing arms and pneumatic drill extensions. Work had to be carried out at low tide to allow accees.

Grappling with large pieces of concrete poses no problem with the right equipment.

With only a few hours to play with on each tide it was important to get the job done as fast and as safely as possible.

As the tide comes in the daily clear up has to take place to leave the beach area as clean as possible.
