Stoneham

Stoneham Construction Ltd

Stoneham Construction Ltd is recognised as one of the Island's leading construction companies, with a reputation founded on performance and building strong relationships.

Stoneham Construction strives to continually improve the processes, products and services their clients have come to rely upon to ensure quality buildings they can be proud of with high standards of environmental performance. Like H.J. Bennett, Stoneham Construction is an award winning business and takes pride in their heritage. So, it is not surprising that these two highly respected Island businesses enjoy a close working professional relationship built on trust and shared values.

This is a relationship through which H.J. Bennett provides specialist plant hire, high quality construction aggregates and complete ‘muckaway’ clearance services that work to ensure that Stoneham Construction’s clients continue to receive the high standards of build and service they have come to expect.

For over a decade since the development of Solent Landing; the replacement for the old Royal Spithead Hotel in Bembridge, H.J. Bennett has supported Stoneham Construction on a broad range of construction projects across commercial, industrial, civil engineering, healthcare, school and community projects through to housing developments from individual bespoke homes to multi-million pound social housing sites.

Within this are the old Harbour Offices in Bembridge - now Solent Quarter, ‘St.Christopher House’ - the new Headquarters for Island Roads in Newport, Nettlestone School and the new Ryde School 6th Form building that also accommodates a commercial kitchen, dining room and new arts studios.

Many of the projects delivered by Stoneham Construction meet with Royal approval, such as the children’s respite centre Beaulieu House in Newport, opened by the Queen and the distinctive Brading Roman Villa, opened by the Duke of Edinburgh.

Caring for the Island

"Quarries can have a major impact on the landscape - but once they have reached the end of their life they have a fantastic potential to deliver habitats for threatened wildlife."
Mark Avery – Former RSPB Conservation Director
